SUSTAINABILITY To continue being a company that society expects to exist

People move with a purpose. Society begins when people travel to other places and meet one another. When movement brings diverse people together to learn from each other, new cultures and new values emerge.
We call all areas related to such human movement “mobility.” We pursue the convenience, enjoyment, and value of mobility, embedding them in the lives and activities of more people.
We call this “mobility culture.”
One of Honda Mobilityland’s major missions is to create a richer and safer mobility culture in society.

Environmental Vision

Toward Carbon Neutrality for Motorsports Events

We are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with hosting motorsports events, Honda Mobilityland's core business, and aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

Environmental VisionEnvironmental Vision

Environmental Initiatives

For major motorsports events held at Suzuka Circuit and Mobility Resort Motegi, we use “Green Denki”* electricity, which is effectively 100% renewable energy through the use of environmental value derived from hydropower, solar power, and other sources.

* Electricity made CO2-free using environmental value based on non-fossil certificates provided by Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc.

Environmental InitiativesEnvironmental Initiatives

For waste generated by hosting motorsports events, we are working to reduce single-use plastics and promote recycling through separate collection.

Environmental InitiativesEnvironmental Initiatives

In addition, we will also assess CO2 emissions from the movement of people and goods associated with hosting international motorsports events and promote a cycle of planning, implementing, evaluating, and improving measures to reduce them.

Suzuka Circuit Earns FIA Environmental Accreditation’s Highest Three-Star Rating

Suzuka Circuit has earned the highest three-star rating in the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Environmental Accreditation Programme.

Based on assessment criteria across 17 sections, the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme rates organizations’ environmental initiatives in three levels through evaluations of environmental management among motorsports activities and automotive industry stakeholders worldwide. At Suzuka Circuit, the environmental management system for building a sustainable future—which has continued to expand its initiatives since earning a two-star rating in 2023—was recognized, and it has now earned the highest three-star rating.

Going forward, we will further accelerate these initiatives toward carbon neutrality for motorsports events and address global environmental and social issues by leveraging our practical field for fostering mobility culture, promoting motorsports, and developing human resources.

Key Initiatives Based on the Environmental Policy

■Use of Clean Energy
  • Use “Green Denki,” which is effectively 100% renewable energy, by utilizing environmental value derived from hydroelectric power, solar power, and other sources
  • Switch part of the fuel for temporary generators to HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) fuel
  • Installation of self-consumption solar panels in on-site parking lots
■Waste reduction
  • Elimination of disposable plastic containers, improved recycling rates through separate collection, and resource circulation through composting of branches, leaves, and mown grass
  • Installation of free water refill stations available for spectators to use freely
  • Donation of surplus food generated at events to food bank organizations in surrounding areas
■Improving environmental performance related to mobility
  • Expanding the capacity of, and promoting the use of, low-carbon transportation options in collaboration with local governments and private companies

Suzuka Circuit is registered as a “Mie Prefecture SDGs Promotion Partner,” an initiative aimed at expanding efforts toward realizing a sustainable society in Mie Prefecture.
